Verstappen clinched his first F1 championship by overtaking Lewis Hamilton on the final lap of the controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi race. Now, as he aims for a fifth consecutive title, the Dutch racer trails Lando Norris by only 12 points.
Oscar Piastri is four points behind Verstappen, setting up a thrilling three-way title showdown on the final day, a scenario not seen since 2010 when Sebastian Vettel staged a remarkable comeback to win the championship. Verstappen’s race engineer suggested a strategic move by Antonelli to benefit Norris, sparking controversy among team officials. Despite the speculation, Toto Wolff dismissed the claims as baseless, emphasizing their focus on the constructors’ championship.
