“Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village wins Holiday Park of the Year”

Date:

The winner of the Holiday Park of the Year in the UK has been revealed, and it is located on a beautiful part of the Norfolk coastline, positioned between two well-liked seaside towns.

Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village, found near the Suffolk border between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, has been granted a five-star rating by the AA. The inspector commended the park for its outstanding leisure and entertainment facilities suitable for all age groups.

Judging various parks across the UK, the AA Caravan and Camping Awards for 2025-26 covered multiple award categories, ranging from Small Campsite of the Year to Glamping Site of the Year. Hopton was honored with the prestigious AA Holiday Park of the Year award, with inspectors praising its charming coastal location, natural countryside surroundings, and excellent range of amenities on-site.

Hosting 775 static caravans, the park is based in Hopton village, known for its expansive sandy beach that attracts crowds during the summer season. Visitors have direct access to the beach, allowing them to relax on the golden sands or take leisurely walks along the grassy cliffs.

Hopton village itself exudes traditional seaside appeal, featuring fish and chip shops, amusements, and a few convenient stores. Additionally, Great Yarmouth, just a brief ten-minute drive away, offers family-friendly attractions such as the Pleasure Beach with rides, the SEA LIFE Centre for marine discoveries, and classic pier amusements.

A short 40-minute drive north of Hopton leads to Horsey Gap, renowned for its significant grey seal colony. The best time to witness these seals is during the pupping season from late October to February, as reported by The Express.

For those seeking entertainment, Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is situated approximately 15 miles from the park. This popular destination caters to all ages, with attractions ranging from a Kiddie Zone for young ones to exhilarating rollercoasters for thrill-seekers.

The park also offers wildlife areas for bird and sea lion sightings, and a soft play area included in the ticket price.

Should visitors prefer to stay close to the holiday village, there are numerous on-site activities at Hopton to enjoy. These include an indoor pool with slides, a covered outdoor pool for warmer months, mini-golf, tennis, bike and kart rentals, and a summer inflatable arena.

As a Haven park, guests have the option to book activities like climbing, archery, and arts and crafts sessions.

Hopton Holiday Village boasts a large entertainment complex with a family-friendly restaurant, fish and chip shop, amusements, fast-food outlets, and The Marina Bar and Stage where entertainment shows are staged by Haven’s entertainment team. Evenings are filled with activities starting with The Seaside Squad engaging children, followed by bingo and all-ages shows.

A three-night stay at Hopton Holiday Village can be secured for as low as £59, based on a family of four sharing a saver caravan. Book your stay and discover more about this award-winning park.
