“Tesco Giving Away ‘Wonky’ Christmas Trees for Free”

Date:

Tesco is offering free Christmas trees for a limited time. These trees, categorized as “wonky,” are usually not sold due to minor imperfections like uneven branches or a slight tilt. However, Tesco will be distributing them at no cost on Saturday, December 6, in selected stores, with a request for donations to food charities Fareshare and Trussell.

The giveaway will take place at various Tesco locations, including Colney Hatch Extra, Borehamwood Extra, Hammersmith, Southport Extra, Goole Superstore, Glossop Superstore, Bristol Brislington Extra, Cardiff Extra, Dundee Riverside Extra, and Glasgow Maryhill Extra. Interested individuals can claim one tree per household on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 am.

Meanwhile, Tesco’s UK CEO, Ashwin Prasad, emphasized the beauty in imperfect moments, stating that these “wonky” trees, with a touch of care and strategic ornament placement, can bring charm to any home. A recent Tesco survey revealed that many Brits do not strive for a flawless Christmas, with 87% agreeing that perfection is not necessary for a special holiday and 74% valuing the imperfect moments that make Christmas feel festive.

In other news, Tesco is rewarding Clubcard members with double points for every £1 spent on gift cards throughout December, applicable to all third-party gift card purchases at Tesco stores. Clubcard members already receive points for grocery, fuel, Tesco Mobile, and Tesco credit card purchases, which can be redeemed for vouchers to use at Tesco stores.
