The Met Office has issued three new weather alerts. The first warning is a yellow alert for strong winds, in effect from 10 pm tomorrow until 4 pm on Tuesday, impacting areas of Wales and the south-west. The Met Office forecasts gusts exceeding 70mph in these regions.

Another yellow wind warning has been issued for the north-west of Scotland, valid from 3 pm on Tuesday until 10 am on Wednesday. Wind speeds of up to 70mph are expected in this area.

The third warning pertains to heavy rainfall and covers a significant portion of northern England from Tuesday morning until 3 pm. The Met Office anticipates up to 80mm of rainfall in these regions.

Additionally, a fourth rain warning is currently active, set to affect Wales and the south-west of England from 6 pm tomorrow until 6 pm on Tuesday. The Met Office warns of potential rainfall amounts reaching 100mm in some areas.

The Met Office cautions that power outages are possible in all regions under these new warnings, with the rain alert also posing a risk of flooding. Residents in these areas are advised to expect travel disruptions.

In a statement, the Met Office emphasized preparedness, stating, “To minimize delays, check road conditions, bus and train schedules, and adjust travel plans accordingly. Preparation is key for coping with power cuts; ensure you have torches, batteries, a mobile phone charger, and other essentials readily available.”
