Toilet bowl stains are typically a result of the combination of limescale and urine, which undergo a chemical reaction leading to the formation of yellowish-brown stains. The longer these residues remain in the toilet, the more substantial the buildup of limescale and urine scale becomes. Therefore, incorporating toilet cleaning into your regular cleaning routine, whether on a monthly or weekly basis, is essential.

Instead, they recommended the use of citric acid, as reported by the Express. Sandra Coombs suggested applying citric acid to the dry toilet bowl to dissolve the limescale effectively. To descale toilets using citric acid, the recommendation is to mix two to three tablespoons of citric acid powder with one liter of water, ensuring the water is added to the bucket before the citric acid to prevent splashing. This solution can also be utilized for cleaning a toilet cistern.
