“BT’s Smart Hub 3 Revolutionizes Home Wi-Fi Security”

Date:

BT has introduced a new method for web access that goes beyond merely linking devices to the internet. The company’s latest Smart Hub 3 Wi-Fi router is set to launch in households across the UK soon, offering not only enhanced connectivity but also a range of security features.

This innovative router incorporates technology capable of automatically recognizing harmful websites, providing users with alerts before potential malware or other online risks can pose a threat. Additionally, it can identify and block suspicious activities by hackers trying to access smart home devices like internet-connected cameras.

Users will have the ability to monitor any identified threats via the Hub Threat Protect feature within the MyBT app. These enhancements aim to bolster online security for households and proactively address potential cyber threats.

In addition to security features, the Smart Hub 3 prioritizes performance. It supports Complete Wi-Fi Plus, which aids in extending signal coverage throughout the home and eliminating dead zones in weaker signal areas.

Visuals of the Smart Hub 3 reveal a sleek, minimalist design with a small BT logo at its center. Notably, the router supports Wi-Fi 6 rather than the newer Wi-Fi 7 standard seen in some competing devices, like those from EE.

While Wi-Fi 7 offers faster speeds, reduced latency, and enhanced reliability, many current devices do not yet support this standard. Therefore, Wi-Fi 6 remains more than sufficient for most households, representing a significant upgrade from older Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4 equipment.

For those interested in acquiring this new router, BT’s Smart Hub 3 will be accessible to new customers, with the possibility of upgrades for certain existing users.

When comparing Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7, it’s worth noting that Wi-Fi 6 enhances wireless performance by boosting speed, efficiency, and capacity compared to its predecessors. On the other hand, Wi-Fi 7 offers wider 320 MHz channels, reduced latency, and higher speeds, making it particularly beneficial for gaming, 8K streaming, and advanced smart home setups.

While Wi-Fi 6 remains a solid choice for most users currently, Wi-Fi 7 presents a more future-proof solution for those seeking advanced capabilities.
