Vancouver-native comedian, writer, and director, Nathan Fielder, unveiled a preview for his upcoming documentary project recently. The film, titled “You Can See Everything,” co-created with documentarian Lance Oppenheim, delves into the period leading to the imprisonment of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, following her 2022 fraud conviction. Oppenheim’s portfolio includes documentaries such as “Spermworld” (2024) and “Some Kind of Heaven” (2020).
Fielder gained recognition through his work on “Nathan For You” and his appearances on CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes.” “You Can See Everything,” distributed by A24, showcases the distinct visual style of the company in its trailer, which includes a gripping one-minute exchange between Fielder and Holmes.
The teaser was revealed during a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival. Although official reviews are pending, initial reactions on social media praised the documentary. Director Daniel Howat labeled it as “hysterical, shocking, and insane,” while music producer Erik Nordgren hailed it as the best film of the year, highlighting its unique storytelling approach.
This project evokes memories of a past uncomfortable interview Fielder conducted with former CBC president Hubert T. Lacroix. The documentary is scheduled for theatrical release next month, promising an intriguing exploration of Holmes’s narrative.
