James Norton has shared that he cast his father in his latest Netflix series, House Of Guinness. The term ‘nepo baby’ typically refers to individuals who achieve success in the entertainment industry due to their family connections, such as Maya Hawke, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Kate Hudson.
In a unique twist, James, aged 40, turned the ‘nepo baby’ concept around by involving his father Hugh, a former teacher, in House Of Guinness. Hugh portrays the character Sean Rafferty, a fictional brewery foreman, in the show created by Steven Knight, known for Peaky Blinders.
James’ father stars alongside Anthony Boyle as Arthur Guinness, Louis Partridge as Edward, and Emily Fairn as Anne Guinness. James took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo with his father, captioning it with “Blink and you’ll miss him #bringyourparentstoworkday,” which garnered positive reactions from fans.
This isn’t the first time Hugh has appeared in his son’s projects, having made appearances in Death Comes To Pemberley, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, and McMafia. James, known for his roles in Happy Valley and Grantchester, has a history of working with his father on screen.
