In a devastating discovery, a mother was overcome with anguish when she entered her daughter’s room and found the lifeless body of 20-year-old Júlia de Paula Barbosa with a broken neck. Júlia was found deceased in the early hours of October 5 with extensive bruises and fractures on her body. Her mother, Jozi Maria de Paula, was shocked to find her daughter in such a state, suspecting she had been subjected to physical assault and strangulation. Jozi described the harrowing scene, recalling Júlia’s battered body lying on the bed in a black jacket, with bruises all over, a broken hand, and a broken foot.
Following the tragic incident at their residence in Cariacica, Brazil, Júlia’s boyfriend, Aleff Wingler, 25, was apprehended in Serra as he attempted to flee to São Mateus. Allegations have been made by Jozi implicating Júlia’s boyfriend in the incident, claiming he had left after taking her keys. The couple had recently attended a party before the unfortunate turn of events, with Júlia’s father providing transportation for them back home.
Júlia, a promising architecture student, had a bright future ahead of her at just 20 years old, according to her cousin Jessica, who lamented the loss. Close friend Maria Eduarda expressed eternal love for Júlia. The authorities are treating the case as femicide, with investigations ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding Júlia’s tragic demise.
