In a tragic incident, a young boy was declared deceased after being discovered unconscious and unresponsive at his residence just prior to 5 pm on Friday, October 3.
The New York Police Department responded to a 911 call from an affordable housing complex in Brooklyn and found the little boy, Anthony Casey, who had sustained blunt force injuries to his torso, leading the medical examiner to determine his death as a murder.
Despite the ruling, there have been no arrests made, and the case is currently under investigation.
In a separate heartbreaking event, a couple from Brazil, Ana Carolina Silva, 41, and Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, 37, tragically passed away after being found dead in a motel bathtub with scalding water. A toxicology report revealed high alcohol levels and traces of cocaine, with forensic tests ruling out other possible causes of death.
Authorities conducted a thorough investigation, examining the motel room, the couple’s vehicle, and analyzing CCTV footage. The Chief Medical Examiner in Brazil confirmed that the deaths were due to exogenous poisoning, resulting in heatstroke and organ failure.
Police officials stated that the circumstances, coupled with the substances found in the bodies, led to the conclusion that the deaths were sudden and not a result of external interference.
