Michael Heseltine has drawn parallels between the Reform party and the fascist movements of the 1930s. He criticized the Conservative party’s stance on asylum seekers and climate change, labeling them as “dishonest” and “irresponsible.”
Speaking at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester, the former Deputy PM cautioned against the rise of far-right groups like Nigel Farage’s party in Europe and the US. He condemned the demonization of asylum seekers, stating that it fuels prejudice within communities.
Heseltine also condemned Kemi Badenoch’s proposal to dismantle the Climate Change Act, calling it an act of “unforgivable irresponsibility.” He warned against ignoring the threat of global warming and emphasized the importance of conserving the environment.
Highlighting the need to reject populist extremism, Heseltine urged against aligning with figures like Nigel Farage and criticized the current US administration’s approach to climate change. He stressed the critical role Conservatives have played in addressing climate change and warned against reversing progress made in combating the crisis.
