A vast assortment of dresses, shoes, and numerous other items that once belonged to Princess Diana is set to embark on a global exhibition tour. Renae Plant, an Australian enthusiast who has invested heavily in amassing a collection of 3000 items, is organizing the tour to allow Diana’s fans worldwide to appreciate the pieces. The ambitious tour is scheduled to kick off in November 2026, starting in California before moving to other locations.
Renae expressed her excitement about the tour, aiming for the collection to eventually find a permanent home in the UK. Each item in the collection holds a special significance and story, with Renae having spent millions acquiring them, including two dresses that each cost over £250,000.
Recalling her personal encounters with Princess Diana, Renae shared her memories of meeting Diana in 1983 and 1988, expressing the profound impact those moments had on her. She also recounted the exhilarating experience of acquiring Diana’s iconic ‘caring dress’ at an auction for £260,000.
Renae’s dedication to collecting Diana memorabilia began in 2014 when she purchased a Caroline Charles wool coat worn by Diana while carrying Prince William. Her passion for Diana’s legacy led her to gradually expand her collection, including acquiring the renowned ice-blue Versace dress and reaching out to Princes William and Harry for their approval.
With over 100 pieces of Diana’s clothing and nearly 3000 items in total, Renae’s collection includes invaluable pieces like Diana’s baby shoes and wedding slippers. Among the treasured items is a dress designed by Jacques Azagury for Diana in 1997, complete with pins from her final fitting, showcasing the enduring allure of Princess Diana’s fashion legacy.
