Emma Raducanu achieved a key goal for the season as the WTA Tour concluded. The rising British tennis star ended her season prematurely in October due to health issues.
Her season featured notable triumphs at Wimbledon and the US Open, reclaiming her status as Britain’s top player. However, Raducanu faced fitness struggles towards the end, evident at the Ningbo Open where she required medical attention and lost her opening match.
Subsequently, she decided to end her season early but confirmed retaining coach Francisco Roig for the next year. This choice jeopardized her aim of being seeded for the Australian Open.
Exiting her final two tournaments ranked 29th, Raducanu’s goal of breaking into the top 32 seemed uncertain. With no additional ranking points post-withdrawal, she awaited confirmation on achieving this milestone.
Having concluded the season as world No. 29, Raducanu looks set to be seeded in Melbourne unless she faces a tough start in 2026 events. In early October, she articulated her desire to secure a seeding at the Australian Open and emphasized the importance of ranking for performance advantages.
Raducanu highlighted the significance of being a role model and inspiring younger generations through her conduct both on and off the court. As the sole British representative within the top 32 WTA rankings, Raducanu aims to maintain a positive influence and set a high standard for others to follow.
In the rankings, Aryna Sabalenka secured the top spot, followed by Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff. Sky has introduced discounted TV and Sky Sports packages ahead of the new season, offering extensive coverage of live matches across various leagues.
