BBC Radio 2 host, Vernon Kay, recently shared the challenges of his lifestyle transformation, admitting that it has caused some friction with his wife, Tess Daly. As both celebrities gear up for their television returns, tensions have arisen due to changes behind the scenes in their relationship.
During his BBC Radio 2 show, Vernon opened up about his lapse in exercise routine but expressed his determination to get back in shape. Despite his previous laziness, he is now fully committed to reverting to his former fitness habits. However, Tess is less enthusiastic about the disruptions his new regime may bring to their household.
Vernon revealed his plans to include skipping ropes in his updated fitness routine, which Tess jokingly anticipates will lead to protein milkshakes, smoothies, and multivitamins becoming staples in their daily lives.
The couple first met by chance nearly 25 years ago while attempting to recreate Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time.” Since then, they have built a life together, raising two daughters, Phoebe and Amber.
Meanwhile, Tess, alongside Claudia Winkleman, will co-host Strictly Come Dancing, with the first elimination set for this weekend. Later in the evening, Vernon will join Kelly Sutton to cover highlights from the Grand Ole Opry radio show’s 100th birthday celebration at the Royal Albert Hall.
The event will feature performances by popular acts like Luke Combs, Breabach, and Mumford and Sons. Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One at 6.20 pm, while Grand Ole Opry Live: 100 Years of Country Music can be viewed on BBC Two at 8.40 pm.
