The annual Uswitch awards were recently presented at a glamorous event in London’s Canary Wharf, unveiling some unexpected winners. Instead of industry giants, smaller mobile networks focused on value stood out in the 2026 Uswitch rankings, impressing both judges and the public.
VOXI, Tesco Mobile, Lebara, and giffgaff excelled in various categories, such as Mobile Network of the Year, Best Mobile Network for Customer Service, and Best Mobile Network for Roaming. Surprisingly, EE claimed the top spot for National Broadband Provider of the Year, surpassing its reputation as a mobile service provider.
Other broadband victors included YouFibre, Plusnet, Vodafone, and Virgin Media. Ernest Doku, a telecoms expert at Uswitch, highlighted the evolving consumer preference for quality over just pricing in 2026.
He emphasized the significance of reliable broadband, especially in the context of remote work. The Uswitch Telecoms Awards aim to assist customers in finding the best telecommunications options, whether prioritizing value for money or other specific needs.
Key winners from the event include EE for National Broadband Provider of the Year, YouFibre for Regional Broadband Provider of the Year, Plusnet for Best Broadband Provider for Customer Service, Vodafone for Best Value for Money Broadband Provider, Virgin for Most Reliable Broadband Provider, and Vodafone for Most Popular Broadband Provider.
In the mobile category, VOXI won Mobile Network of the Year, Tesco received the award for Best Mobile Network for Customer Service, Lebara excelled in Best Mobile Network for Roaming, and giffgaff secured Best Mobile Handset Contract Network. Additionally, Three was recognized as the Best Mobile Network for Perks, and EE emerged as the Fastest Mobile Network Overall.
