Tyson Fury Officially Retires from Boxing, Rejects Comeback

Date:

Tyson Fury has declared that he will not be stepping back into the boxing ring, contradicting previous plans of a comeback. This decision comes shortly after his retirement announcement in January following a defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. Despite previous indications of a return, Fury has now stated that he is done with boxing, citing his age as a factor during an appearance at Doncaster Racecourse.

Fury’s potential trilogy fight against Usyk, scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Wembley Stadium, seems to have been abandoned as Fury emphasized his retirement stance. The heavyweight boxer was at the racecourse filming for his documentary series, At Home With The Furys, when he made this revelation. His racehorse, Big Gypsy King, did not perform well in the race, finishing in 11th place.

In the world of horse racing, Fury has been venturing into the National Hunt side with his manager, Spencer Brown, investing in horses. Notable acquisitions include Cossack Chach and Sea The Clouds, with the latter achieving success at Cartmel races under the guidance of trainer Jimmy Moffatt.
