Donald Trump’s physician has given an important update following the President’s recent medical examination. Concerns about the 79-year-old leader’s health have arisen since he took office in February, especially after being seen with bruised hands multiple times. There have even been suggestions from some quarters that he may be suffering from dementia.
Trump spent approximately three hours at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland for a scheduled follow-up evaluation. Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, Trump’s doctor, stated in a released memo that the President is in excellent health, showing strong performance in cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical aspects.
In addition to the evaluation, Trump received a Covid-19 booster shot and his annual flu vaccination. Barbabella mentioned that Trump’s cardiac age is estimated to be 14 years younger than his actual age of 79.
The assessment was conducted in preparation for Trump’s upcoming international travels to the Middle East and Asia. Various tests, including advanced imaging, lab examinations, and preventive health assessments, were performed to ensure his well-being.
Although the White House described the visit as a routine yearly checkup, Trump had already undergone his annual examination in April. The results affirmed that he is fully capable of carrying out his presidential duties.
Barbabella, who also conducted the April assessment, reported that Trump had shed 20 pounds compared to his physical five years prior. The doctor praised Trump’s active lifestyle for significantly contributing to his overall health.
During the April examination, Trump’s cognitive functions were evaluated and found to be satisfactory. While presidents have the right to withhold health details from the public, Trump’s April summary provided comprehensive information on various health metrics.
Following Trump’s absence from a recent CNN interview, where he sent text responses instead of appearing on camera, questions about his health resurfaced. The President, through text messages, discussed his plans for peace in the Gaza-Israel conflict, emphasizing a tough stance against Hamas if they fail to cooperate.
