A father tragically passed away on a pirate-themed cruise during a family vacation in Turkey after reportedly being found unconscious in the water. Peter Colville, a British man, was enjoying a holiday in Alanya with his relatives, including children and grandchildren, aboard the ‘Legend Big Kral’ ship known for its entertainment and activities like snorkeling and foam parties, accommodating around 600 guests.
The incident unfolded during a stop at Cleopatra Beach when Peter went missing and was later discovered unconscious in the water by fellow swimmers. Despite efforts to revive him with CPR, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, prompting the coastguard’s intervention. Meanwhile, his family, including his grandchildren, were escorted off the vessel, while the cruise continued with a foam party for the remaining passengers.
His daughter, Nakita Colville, who witnessed the distressing events, criticized the crew’s response as lacking urgency and empathy, stating that they appeared indifferent to the situation. Nakita described the crew’s focus shifting quickly back to entertainment, leaving the family traumatized by the tragic loss.
Following the incident, postmortem examinations conducted both in Turkey and the UK failed to determine the cause of death, leading to ongoing investigations. Reviews from other passengers on the cruise highlighted concerns about the crew’s handling of the emergency, with criticisms of the lack of proper procedures and insensitivity shown towards the situation.
Nakita emphasized her father’s kind nature and the need for better treatment in such circumstances, expressing disbelief at the events that transpired. Despite attempts to seek clarification from the cruise operator, Big Kral Pirate Boats did not provide a response to inquiries regarding the incident.
