Police in Valdosta, Georgia, are currently investigating the tragic death of a two-year-old boy who was fatally mauled by two Rottweiler dogs while under the care of an unlicensed nursery operator. The incident unfolded when the child’s mother, Adrianna Jones, entrusted him to Stacy Wheeler Cobb, 48, who managed the unlicensed daycare facility.
On the day of the incident, the young boy was the only child present at the nursery. Cobb reportedly left him unattended as she took a nap, assuming the child was also resting. During this unsupervised time, the boy wandered into the yard where the two Rottweilers, typically kept in a kennel, were situated. Tragically, the dogs attacked and killed him before emergency responders could intervene.
Following the devastating attack, Cobb was apprehended by law enforcement and charged with second degree cruelty to children and second degree murder. In response to the heartbreaking loss, the child’s mother, Adrianna, has initiated a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe, which has gathered over $32,774 of its $40,000 goal.
Expressing her anguish, Adrianna recounted the tragic events of that day and her reasons for choosing the daycare facility. She emphasized her status as a single, hardworking mother seeking to provide for her beloved son, Kaimir. She described the harrowing scene she encountered upon arriving at the daycare premises, where police were already documenting the incident.
Adrianna’s emotional plea for financial assistance to cover her son’s funeral expenses has touched many hearts. Chief Leslie Manahan of the Valdosta Police Department condemned the incident, attributing the tragedy to negligence on the part of the caregiver that led to the loss of a child’s life.
For those willing to support the family during this difficult time, Adrianna’s GoFundMe page can be accessed for contributions.
