Horrified parents shielded their children’s eyes witnessing a tragic incident as a circus acrobat fell to her death during a performance. Marina B, a 27-year-old Spanish acrobat, met her untimely demise while executing a trapeze stunt at the Paul Busch Circus in Bautzen, east Germany. The audience of over 80 onlookers was left in shock by the unfortunate event.
The heart-wrenching screams resonated as parents tried to console their children amidst the acrobat’s fatal fall. Despite immediate assistance from police and paramedics, Marina could not be saved and passed away at the scene. Ralf Huppertz, the chairman of the Association of German Circus Companies, expressed deep sorrow, describing the incident as a dreadful shock for visitors and especially children.
Speculations arose regarding the cause of the accident, with Huppertz mentioning the possibility of Marina experiencing dizziness on the trapeze, leading to the tragic outcome. Trained crisis intervention experts were promptly deployed to assist those in need of support following the distressing event. It was revealed that Marina was not wearing a safety rope at the time, as self-employed artists like her are solely responsible for their safety decisions.
A note announcing the circus’s closure due to the tragic loss was displayed at the ticket booth. Marina B, a proud professional from Mallorca who traveled globally with the circus, was known for her passion for the art. Her final Instagram post featured a picture of herself mid-flight with the caption “Up here, I work best,” reflecting her dedication to her craft.
