Luke Littler missed out on competing in the most recent Players Championship event in 2025 due to being stuck in traffic and failing to meet the registration deadline. The 18-year-old, who had recently won his first title of the season, was set to participate in the tournament at Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan. However, he announced on Instagram that he would not be able to compete after missing the sign-on deadline at 11am.
As a result, Littler had to forfeit his spot in the event, joining a group of 12 players who also dropped out, including notable names like Josh Rock, Gary Anderson, and Jonny Clayton. Despite the setback, Littler remains optimistic as he looks forward to the Players Championship finals in Minehead next month.
Following his victory at PC32 and securing a place in the finals, Littler silenced critics who doubted his ability to make it to the top 64. He expressed his satisfaction with the win and his determination to prove his doubters wrong. Additionally, Littler recently claimed the World Grand Prix championship and made a strong showing at the European Championship, demonstrating his growing success in the world of darts.
