“Snow Expected in UK Regions: November Forecast”

Date:

Recent UK weather maps indicate that snowfall is expected in three UK regions within the next few days.

Although the southern part of the country has been experiencing warmer-than-usual weather, a shift to colder conditions is on the horizon for November. Forecasts from WX Charts highlight areas in England, Scotland, and Wales that may witness snow showers. The weather charts display patches of purple, white, and blue signaling the incoming cold spell. Projections suggest up to 56cm of snow could accumulate in certain regions by around November 17.

The areas expected to be impacted by heavy snowfall are north-west England, North Wales, and most of Scotland. Particularly, parts of the Scottish Highlands might experience substantial snow accumulation, with up to 56cm predicted by WX Charts. Cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow could see around 3cm of snowfall.

Northern regions of Wales might witness up to 3cm of snowfall early on November 17. Additionally, parts of North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and near Greater Manchester could expect snowfall ranging from 3cm to 6cm on the same morning.

The Met Office’s extended forecast for that period hints at a shift to colder weather in the latter half of the month.

Between November 11-20, the Met Office anticipates unsettled conditions initially, with mild temperatures and rain bands affecting most parts of the UK, primarily the western and southern regions.

Clear skies and light winds overnight may lead to frost and fog, particularly in the east and north. Towards mid-November, a transition to drier weather across the UK is probable, accompanied by slightly cooler temperatures and an increased risk of overnight frost.

This weather update follows previous reports indicating a potential prolonged period of snow and frigid temperatures reaching as low as -6C for UK residents.

WX Charts data from November 15 onwards suggests that regions like the Midlands, north-west England, and Scotland are likely to experience snowfall. Temperatures in the Scottish Highlands could plummet to -2C.

Snowfall is also expected in Wales and the north-west of England by November 16. By November 17, the snow is forecasted to settle from Scotland to Cumbria and Snowdonia in Wales, with temperatures dropping to as low as -5 and -6C.

On November 18, temperatures could drop to -5C in Ireland, mid-Wales, and Scotland, with freezing conditions persisting until November 19.
