“Plusnet Leads in Customer Satisfaction, TalkTalk Lags Behind”

Date:

The latest data from UK regulator Ofcom reveals varying performance levels among major broadband providers in the country. TalkTalk, Vodafone, and EE rank at the bottom of the customer complaints table, all falling below the national average. Ofcom highlighted that these three companies generated the highest number of broadband complaints, with TalkTalk and Vodafone experiencing an increase in complaints compared to the previous quarter.

In contrast, Plusnet emerged as the top performer with the fewest complaints, surpassing both EE and Sky, despite all being under the BT umbrella. Sky secured the second spot for the least number of issues, while Virgin Media showed significant improvement, now ranking as the third-best in terms of customer grievances.

The list of winners and losers based on complaints per 100,000 users includes Plusnet with 4, Sky with 6, and Virgin Media with 7 complaints per 100,000. On the other hand, BT, Vodafone, and EE had 11, 10, and 10 complaints per 100,000 users, respectively. TalkTalk once again found itself at the bottom of the ranking with 10 complaints per 100,000 users.

Apart from broadband, Ofcom also monitors complaints related to landlines and pay-TV services. Utility Warehouse led the landline sector with only 1 complaint per 100,000 users, followed by Sky, Virgin Media, and Vodafone. In the TV segment, TalkTalk had the fewest complaints at 2 per 100,000, while Sky, Virgin Media, and EE followed with 3, 5, and 6 complaints per 100,000 users, respectively.

Despite complaints remaining stable across broadband, landline, mobile, and pay-TV services, there has been no significant improvement in customer satisfaction levels. Ernest Doku, a telecoms expert at uswitch.com, noted the industry’s lack of progress in addressing consumer concerns amid rising costs. Plusnet’s consistent performance in receiving the fewest complaints underscores its commitment to customer service excellence.

As annual price adjustments approach, consumers are advised to evaluate their service providers to ensure they receive value for their money. Comparing deals and exploring options for better services is recommended for those dissatisfied with their current providers.
