Holidaymakers staying at a caravan park in the UK are outraged after learning that the park will close at the end of the current season. The Happy Valley Caravan Park, situated near Porthcawl in Wales, houses 200 caravan plots, and the 200 caravan owners are now facing significant costs to either remove or relocate their caravans, bidding farewell to the tight-knit community they’ve built over the years.
In a recent communication from LT Management Services, it was disclosed that the park, which ceased its touring facility in 2021, will cease operations on October 31. Caravan owners have until the end of February 2026 to make arrangements to eliminate their caravans. This directive has left many caravanners with unexpected expenses ranging from £1,500 to £4,000.
Alison Williams, a long-time caravan owner at the site, expressed her dismay at the situation, describing the forced eviction as unjust. Many owners have spent decades at the park, creating lasting memories and friendships within the community. Amanda Jayne, another caravan owner, emphasized the strong sense of camaraderie and support among residents at the site.
The abrupt closure of the holiday park has also sparked concerns among residents of the unaffected residential area, with fears about the future of their homes. Wendy, a resident, shared her worries about the potential shutdown of the residential facilities, highlighting the emotional toll and uncertainty faced by the affected individuals.
The unexpected announcement has left many owners reeling, including Lisa Powell, who had recently purchased a caravan and now feels devastated by the turn of events. The closure has not only disrupted the enjoyment they paid for but also upended the sense of community and shared experiences that made the site special.
