Oasis’ Bonehead Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Date:

Renowned Oasis musician, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, has disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis at the age of 60. He informed fans through a post on X that he will be absent from various legs of the Oasis tour to undergo cancer treatment.

In his statement on X, Bonehead shared, “Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The positive update is that my response to treatment has been very promising, enabling me to participate in this amazing tour. However, I now need to pause for the next phase of my treatment, leading to my absence from the performances in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney.”

Expressing his regret for missing these shows, Bonehead reassured fans of his well-being and anticipated a return for the South America tour in November. Oasis also conveyed their support, stating, “Wishing you all the best with your treatment Bonehead – we’ll see you back on stage in South America.” A close source to the band confirmed that they prioritized Bonehead’s health, acknowledging his contributions to the current tour’s success.

Bonehead, acknowledged for reuniting Liam and Noel Gallagher and Oasis, played a pivotal role in the band’s comeback tour. Noel Gallagher, praising Bonehead during the tour, credited him for Oasis’ reunion after nearly 16 years. Onstage, Noel humorously introduced Bonehead as the reason behind their reunion, emphasizing his significance to the band.

Having battled tonsil cancer in April 2022, Bonehead updated in September that he is now cancer-free and in recovery. Despite health challenges, Bonehead’s humor shined through during the tour when responding to fans’ comments about the setlist, showcasing his resilience and spirit.
