Nightclub Security Charged in Winnipeg Basketball Player Assault

Three security personnel at a nightclub in downtown Winnipeg are facing assault charges following an incident that left a Winnipeg Sea Bears player with serious injuries earlier this month, according to police reports. Teddy Allen was taken to the hospital after being attacked at the nightclub during the early hours of August 3, as confirmed by the Canadian Elite Basketball League team. The three individuals, aged 35, 37, and 58, who were employed at the venue, were apprehended on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm. They have all been released on undertakings, the authorities announced in a press release on Thursday. Although the nightclub’s name was not disclosed, law enforcement stated it was located on Main Street, situated between Portage and William avenues. In a statement released by the team on Thursday, Allen disclosed that he has undergone medical examinations, received a diagnosis, and is presently recovering at home. Allen expressed his dismay over the assault, emphasizing that such incidents should never occur to anyone for any reason. He further asserted his resilience, stating that he always gets back up when knocked down, which he intends to do in this case as well.
