The baby, swaddled in a blanket, was found at the base of a staircase leading to a train platform at Penn Station on a Monday morning. Authorities were alerted to the abandoned newborn through an anonymous tip, prompting emergency services to swiftly respond and transport her to a nearby hospital.
Upon discovery, the New York Police Department (NYPD) reported that the baby was alert and conscious. Subsequently, at Bellevue Hospital, her condition was described as stable. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, with no arrests made as of yet, according to reports from US media outlets.
The NYPD is currently reviewing surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the individual responsible for leaving the baby at the subway station, as reported by the New York Post. However, no information regarding the person behind this act has been disclosed.

Social worker May Asuncion confirmed the baby’s stability and noted that she would remain under observation at the hospital for up to five days to ensure her well-being.
