A newborn infant was discovered abandoned with a stone placed in his mouth and his lips glued together to stifle any cries in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, India. The defenseless baby was found lying amidst rocks and debris, but thankfully, a cattle herder managed to remove the obstruction, allowing the child to cry once again.
The herder and local villagers promptly took the baby to the Bijolia Government Hospital for urgent medical care. Doctors determined the baby to be around 15 to 20 days old, noting adhesive not only around the mouth but also on the thighs.
Authorities suspect that the use of glue and the stone was an attempt to silence the baby to avoid detection. Police are currently examining birth records from nearby medical facilities to identify recent mothers. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to locate the child’s parents ongoing.
