Max Verstappen’s wealth has surged by close to £44 million over the last year, elevating his total net worth to just under £230 million. The Red Bull Racing driver has moved up in the ranks of Quote 500, a list of the wealthiest individuals in the Netherlands, advancing from 322nd place last year to 264th.
Even as he turned 28 in late September, Verstappen retains the distinction of being the youngest person on the list, a title he has held since his debut in 2022. Initially entering the list as the 500th individual with a net worth slightly over £105 million, Verstappen has swiftly climbed the rankings, reaching the 428th spot a year later and making a significant leap of 106 places last year.
The entry requirement for this year’s list stands at just under £123 million. Notably absent from the list is Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.
Forbes has positioned Verstappen as the 25th highest-paid athlete globally this year, with earnings just under £59 million. The majority of this income is derived from his salary and winnings, while endorsements contribute £4.5 million.
In contrast, Lewis Hamilton is ranked higher at 22nd on the list, with earnings slightly exceeding £60 million. Despite his salary and winnings being lower at just over £45 million, endorsements totaling £15 million propel him ahead of Verstappen.
Earlier this year, the Daily Mail reported that Aston Martin had offered Verstappen an eye-watering £750 million deal to cover the remainder of his career. Verstappen responded, stating it was a substantial sum, expressing surprise at the offer.
Verstappen has since confirmed his commitment to Red Bull for the upcoming season, having signed a contract extension until 2028, reportedly valued at around £40 million per season.
