Courtrooms are typically serious and formal settings where important legal proceedings take place. These proceedings involve delivering justice in cases of crime, determining individuals’ futures, and require a respectful atmosphere. However, emotions and anxiety can sometimes lead to disruptive behavior, as seen in a bizarre incident where a man defecated and threw feces at a judge during a court session in Miami.
In 2019, Dorleans Philidor, facing burglary charges, shocked the courtroom by attempting to hurl feces at Dade Circuit Judge Lisa Walsh. Witnesses reported that Philidor shouted, “It’s protein! It’s good for you!” Fortunately, the judge managed to avoid the waste, and law enforcement swiftly intervened to control the situation.
Despite the disturbance, the trial continued in a different location, and Philidor was ultimately found not guilty of the initial charges. This incident was not the first disruption caused by Philidor, as the day before, he had smeared feces on himself and his holding cell, leading to a delay in proceedings. Although his mental health was evaluated, he was deemed fit to stand trial, with authorities implementing additional security measures to prevent a recurrence of such events.
