“Influencer Driving Instructor’s Roundabout Signal Tips”

Date:

An instructor who is also a popular figure on social media, known as an influencer driving instructor, recently shared valuable guidance for new drivers on TikTok regarding the proper use of indicators at roundabouts. This advice aims to help learners avoid potential mistakes that could lead to test retakes.

During a simulated driving test, Lee, from Lee Albon Driving School, encountered a student who was unsure about signaling at a roundabout. Lee’s straightforward and effective explanation resonated with many viewers facing similar uncertainties.

In a brief video clip, Lee introduced Layla, his student, who hesitated while approaching a roundabout, uncertain about signaling. When Layla inquired about using indicators, Lee reminded her that he couldn’t offer direct guidance during a test and encouraged her to make her own decision based on her direction. Layla correctly decided not to signal for going straight ahead.

Lee then transitioned from test mode to explain the reasoning behind the correct signaling approach, emphasizing the potential confusion caused by incorrect signaling and how it could lead to failure in a real test.

Highlighting the importance of self-assessment, Lee advised drivers to always consider their intended direction before signaling at roundabouts: left for left turns, right for right turns, and no signal for going straight until approaching the exit, where a left signal is used to indicate exiting.

Acknowledging the pressure of test situations, Lee reassured learners that they can master the correct signaling approach with practice. Incorrect signaling at roundabouts is a common reason for minor faults during driving tests, potentially causing confusion for other drivers. Lee’s TikTok video simplifies this aspect of driving, making roundabouts less intimidating, especially for test-takers.
