She recommends a thorough inspection of the bed, including checking under the covers and examining the corners and creases for any signs of bedbugs.
Travelers are urged to lift the mattress and inspect underneath, looking for bugs or telltale spots like bloodstains. Even if no bugs are visible, the presence of such stains can be an indicator of an issue.
To prevent bedbugs from hitching a ride in suitcases, tourists are advised to avoid placing luggage on the bed and instead use a luggage stand or keep it near the room’s entrance.
Experts suggest washing all clothing immediately upon returning home to eliminate any potential pests. Additionally, checking ironing boards and curtains for bedbugs is recommended.
