David Schumacher, the nephew of legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, has recently become engaged to Vivien Keszthelyi. The couple, who met through mutual acquaintances and have been in a relationship for several years, shared the happy news on social media during the weekend.
David, who competed in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for the HRT Ford Performance team, proposed to Vivien while they were on a romantic getaway in the Maldives. Posting picturesque images on Instagram, the 24-year-old expressed their joy, stating, “She said yes. The ocean witnessed our love, and the sunset sealed our promise. 05.11.2025.” Vivien also expressed gratitude for the well-wishes and support they received from friends and followers.
Among those who congratulated the couple was David’s father, Ralf, a former Formula 1 race winner. The post garnered over 20,000 likes, with Ralf being one of the first to react. Notably, Michael Schumacher, David’s uncle, suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident in 2013, leading to his current condition requiring constant medical care at home.
The seven-time world champion spent 250 days in a medically induced coma before being moved back home. Neurosurgeon Dr. Jussi Posti, who has closely monitored Michael’s situation, indicated that he likely remains in a stable condition and has been primarily confined to his home for the past decade.
In a Netflix documentary released in 2021, Michael’s wife, Corinna, shared insights into his life post-accident, revealing his optimism before the tragic incident and the challenges faced by the family since. Their son Mick also reflected on the accident’s impact, expressing a longing for the shared moments and conversations they would have had if not for the injury.
