Coronation Street emerged as the standout victors at this year’s Inside Soap Awards, clinching the top honors. The popular ITV soap outshone its BBC counterparts, notably EastEnders, by securing prestigious accolades.
The enduring soap triumphed in the coveted Best Soap category for the second consecutive year. Additionally, several key actors from the show received recognition in their respective categories.
Among them, Jack P Shepherd, known for his portrayal of David Platt on Coronation Street, won the award for Best Comic Performance. Meanwhile, Vicky Myers, who plays Lisa Swain, was honored with the Best Actress award.
During the ceremony, Inside Soap editor Sarah Ellis remarked, “It has been a remarkable year of dramatic storytelling, and the competition for the Best Soap title was incredibly close this time.” She added, “Coronation Street’s victory caps off an exceptional year for the soap, undoubtedly boosted by the immense popularity of Best Partnership winners Alison King and Vicky Myers, who are beloved as Swarla.”
