“Cabinet Members Rock Karaoke at Labour Party Conference”

Date:

Cabinet members Wes Streeting and Lisa Nandy delivered a spirited performance of Oasis’ hit song, “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Joining them on stage at the renowned Mirror party during the Labour Party Conference were former shadow minister Jonathan Ashworth, where Health Secretary Mr. Streeting and Culture Secretary Ms. Nandy showcased their karaoke skills.

The event commenced with a moving rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Justice minister Alex Davies-Jones, accompanied by Hillsborough campaigners. Margaret Aspinall, who lost her son James in the 1989 tragedy, passionately advocated for the swift passing of a new law to prevent cover-ups without dilution.

The party, organized in collaboration with InHouse Communications and featuring beverages from Diageo, is a traditional post-keynote speech gathering following the Prime Minister’s address. Mr. Streeting led the crowd with a rendition of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” joined by Labour MP Oliver Ryan, as attendees, including journalists, MPs, and political staff, took turns performing on stage to unwind after a hectic conference.

Labour MP Mark Ferguson tackled Pulp’s “Common People,” Housing Secretary Steve Reed sang “Sweet Caroline,” MPs Jen Craft and Christian Wakeford performed Wheatus’ “Teenage Dirtbag,” and The Mirror’s Mikey Smith rocked out to Green Day’s “American Idiot.”

The party was attended by hundreds of guests at the conference center in Liverpool, with some reveling into the early hours. The iconic Mirror Chicken, a fixture known for engaging with politicians over the years, even showcased some dance moves.

The festivities followed Keir Starmer’s absence from the event, where he had previously pledged to challenge Nigel Farage in his keynote speech.
