If your radiator exhibits cold spots, particularly at the top, emits gurgling sounds, or heats up slowly, bleeding the radiator may resolve the issue. To start, acquire a radiator key, available for as low as 97p from Screwfix, for releasing trapped air in the radiator.
Before beginning the bleeding process, ensure to turn off your heating system as advised by Peter Knowles, a technical repair engineer at British Gas. It’s crucial to allow the radiator to cool completely to avoid any burns from hot water. Also, prepare an old towel and a container to catch the water that will be released during the process. Locate the small valve on the radiator, and using the radiator key, turn it anticlockwise to release trapped air.
