According to Tarotoo’s findings, Bradford emerges as the spookiest city in the UK. This West Yorkshire location boasts a startling 143 cemeteries with 255,699 graves, along with 3,284 unoccupied houses and 66,080 properties over 100 years old – a perfect haunt for ghosts who favor historic dwellings.
Bradford is home to several notorious haunted spots, including Paper Hall, a historic Grade II listed building from 1643. Tales of paranormal occurrences at Paper Hall include sightings of eerie eyes peering from windows and phantom footsteps echoing along staircases in the dead of night, with no visible source.
Local legends suggest the mysterious footsteps belong to a peg-legged sailor ghost, with rumors circulating that an admiral met a tragic end within the house.
