A wellness coach in Tennessee faced a life-threatening situation after a breast augmentation procedure went wrong, causing one of her implants to burst open, leaving a significant wound.
Lo Watson, a part-time waitress, decided to undergo breast enlargement surgery as a birthday treat when she turned 40, spending $14,500 on the procedure in August. She explained that weight loss had impacted the appearance of her existing implants, leading her to opt for a larger size.
Following the surgery, Lo experienced complications when the incision under her left breast opened up three weeks later. Despite her concerns, her doctor initially reassured her that everything was fine, advising her to use medical tape to close the wound.
However, as swelling and fluid build-up persisted, Lo sought a second opinion from a local doctor who recommended immediate removal of the implants. She highlighted that the implants were too large for her frame, causing the incision to split open and jeopardizing her health.
Expressing her distress over the situation, Lo mentioned feeling deceived and vulnerable, with concerns about the impact on her career as a wellness coach and online presence. She emphasized her inability to work due to physical restrictions imposed by the botched surgery.
Despite the ordeal, Lo expressed her intention to undergo corrective surgery once her body has healed, aiming to regain confidence and familiarity with her body. To support herself financially during this period, she created a fundraising page and planned to seek legal advice regarding the incident.
