Alton Towers Resort has revealed plans for the world’s inaugural Bluey coaster, scheduled to debut at CBeebies Land. The new junior coaster will be inspired by the popular TV show Bluey, which has captured a global audience since its premiere in Australia in 2018. The endearing tales of the Australian dog family have captivated viewers of all ages, with both kids and adults finding delight in the adventures of Blue Heeler puppy Bluey and her sister Bingo.
The Emmy Award-winning Bluey is the top show on CBeebies in the UK and has amassed over 770 million streams since its introduction on BBC iPlayer. The Bluey coaster is slated to infuse the spirit of Bluey into young fans and families in Spring 2026, complementing Alton Towers Resort’s existing Bluey attractions like the Heeler family meet-and-greet and live stage performance.
This coaster launch follows the introduction of Bluey-themed hotel rooms in May 2024 as part of the resort’s festivities marking the 10-year milestone of CBeebies Land. Visitors can now enjoy a stay in hotel rooms that replicate the ambiance of Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom.
Bluey, conceptualized and scripted by Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Studios Kids & Family, is the newest addition to the array of rides at CBeebies Land. The land features various attractions including Hey Duggee Big Adventure Badge, Andy’s Adventures Dinosaur Dig, JoJo & Gran Gran At Home, Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom ride, In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, Something Special Sensory Garden, and Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure.
Sabrina de Carvalho, Merlin Entertainments’ senior vice president, expressed excitement about the forthcoming Bluey coaster, emphasizing its status as the world’s first of its kind. While specific details and the launch date are currently undisclosed, the coaster is anticipated to embody Bluey’s boundless energy, drawing fans and families worldwide to the resort.
The most recent attraction at Alton Towers, the Toxicator, offers a thrilling experience by lifting riders 78ft in the air, spinning them in darkness, and then lowering them face down over a pool of toxic alien slime. The Mirror’s Steve Wollaston shared his experience on the ride, praising its unique features and captivating theming.
