The fan fell from the upper concourse, landing 25 rows behind the Penguins’ bench after hitting another person. Eyewitnesses initially thought the fan was joking as they swayed, but then witnessed them missing steps and falling.
Authorities reported that the individual sustained life-threatening injuries and was swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment. An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances leading to the fall, resulting in the closure of ten seats in Section 234 of the arena.
The NHL franchise released a statement confirming the incident, expressing concern for the injured individual and his family. The Pittsburgh Penguins and OVG Management Group are closely monitoring the situation and providing support.
