A former student of a prestigious school attended by The Duchess of York, a 23-year-old British tourist named George Wilson, was apprehended in Bangkok with 9.1kg of crystal meth in his possession. Wilson, hailing from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, reportedly received the illicit substance from another British individual in a red-light district hotel. Following a tip-off, Thai authorities arrested Wilson in his hotel room. The Foreign Office has engaged with Thai officials regarding the matter.
Reports indicate that Wilson, who attended Hurst Lodge School in Surrey, has connections to renowned music band Iron Maiden. Despite his affluent background and family living in a desirable Thames-side area, Wilson’s involvement in drug-related activities shocked acquaintances. Upon discovering his arrest while on a global cruise, Wilson claimed ignorance about the contents of a suitcase containing methamphetamine during his apprehension by Thai police.
The suspect, set to appear in court, allegedly confessed to receiving the suitcase from a drug courier named “Snoopy” for a fee. Thai law enforcement, monitoring the suspects for days, secured an arrest warrant after verifying the delivery of the packages at the hotel. Inside the foil bags meant for tea, authorities found a substantial quantity of crystal meth. Thai officials believe the drug originated from Myanmar and transited through Thailand, a hotspot for illicit operations. Wilson faces charges for trafficking methamphetamine, a severe offense contributing to public drug proliferation, according to law enforcement.
