Tom Holland Recovering After Spider-Man Head Injury

Date:

Hollywood actor Tom Holland has spoken out following an incident where he sustained a head injury while working on the upcoming Spider-Man film. The well-known Marvel star required medical attention during the filming of scenes featuring the popular character. On September 19, paramedics were summoned to Leavesden Studios in Watford due to a mishap during a stunt.

Subsequently, he was transported to the hospital for treatment, leading to a temporary halt in filming for a week to allow for his recovery. Sources have indicated that production cannot continue without Tom present on set.

Tom recently updated his fans via Instagram on Saturday evening, sharing a post from a gala event he attended with his fiancée and Spider-Man co-star Zendaya. Expressing gratitude, he wrote, “Another successful evening at The Brothers Trust event. I want to extend a big thank you to my mother and her amazing friends for organizing yet another spectacular night, raising funds for important causes while enjoying ourselves!”

Providing an update on his well-being, Tom added, “Apologies for leaving early, but I’m feeling much better now. A special thanks to my Dad for taking over after my departure. The show became even more entertaining.”

Reports suggest that the pause in filming due to Tom’s mild concussion is estimated to result in a significant £10.5 million loss. The production budget for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is around $200 million, equivalent to approximately £150 million.

According to the Daily Mail, the ongoing shutdown is incurring an additional £1.5 million in expenses daily until filming resumes. Costs include studio rentals, equipment fees, and maintaining sets during the hiatus. The cast members continue to receive pay during the break, with extra costs arising from extended accommodations necessitated by schedule adjustments.

An industry source noted, “Halting filming is a major challenge for any production, especially for a project of this magnitude. Despite the focus on health and safety, the production team faces financial pressures, including crew salaries and expenses for alternate locations. Everyone involved is eager to resume filming as soon as possible.”
