Revolut, a finance and tech company, has launched its new service called Revolut Mobile in the UK, introducing increased competition in the mobile network market. The service offers unlimited 5G data, calls, and texts for just £12.50 per month, significantly undercutting similar plans from major UK networks like EE and Vodafone, which charge £25 monthly.
Moreover, Revolut Mobile provides an attractive feature for travelers with 20GB of roaming data in the EU and the US at no extra cost. This offering allows users to stay connected without additional charges while visiting cities such as Paris, Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles, which many UK networks still impose for US travel.
Additionally, Revolut Mobile offers a Messaging Pass that enables global messaging in over 80 countries through platforms like WhatsApp. Subscribers can also add up to three phone numbers to a single plan, simplifying the management of work, personal, and travel lines. Furthermore, each subscription includes a complimentary NordVPN membership for secure and private browsing.
The service is currently being rolled out to waitlisted customers, with full public availability expected by January 2026. While Revolut aims to challenge established networks like EE, Vodafone, and O2, industry experts caution that success is not guaranteed. Paolo Pescatore, an analyst, emphasized the importance of strong execution in combining banking services with mobile connectivity, highlighting the competitive nature of the MVNO market.
Despite the challenges, Revolut is confident in its ability to compete, with Hadi Nasrallah, Revolut’s General Manager of Telco, expressing the company’s commitment to providing a differentiated and innovative mobile service. Nasrallah emphasized Revolut Mobile’s focus on delivering exceptional user experience, innovative features, and transparent pricing to disrupt the industry.
