Storm Claudia wreaked havoc in the UK, causing flooding and road blockages in several areas. Cleanup efforts are underway in homes, stores, and roads affected by the storm. Unfortunately, the aftermath of the storm will be compounded by a cold snap, with temperatures dropping significantly. The UK experienced its coldest night since March, reaching -7C in Tulloch Bridge in the Highlands.
Temperatures are set to plummet further, with a 5C drop expected, bringing temperatures down to around 11C on Sunday and even colder at the beginning of the week. The Met Office has warned of possible snow and ice following a period of above-average temperatures.
Images depicting the extensive damage and chaos left by Storm Claudia have emerged, particularly in Wales and the Midlands. Residents in Monmouth, Wales, were evacuated during the floods but have since returned to clean up their town. People have been seen wearing wellies and assisting in moving furniture out of affected businesses in Monmouth.
Cleanup efforts have been underway, with individuals seen clearing mud from shops and dealing with the aftermath of flooded homes and businesses. In Pontrilas, Herefordshire, the River Dulas Brook overflowed, leading to flooding in the village. Additionally, a tree uprooted by the storm fell on three cars, blocking a road in Greater Manchester.
