Georgia Hunter Bell, an Olympic bronze medallist in the 1500m, shared her expertise with aspiring athletes at Ealing Southall & Middlesex Athletics Club. Recently securing a silver medal in the 800m world championship in Tokyo, she mentored young athletes at the club where she developed her skills as a junior athlete.
During her visit, Hunter Bell led training sessions, interacted with participants, and engaged in a Q&A session to offer valuable advice for achieving success in sports. Emphasizing the importance of bravery in competition, she highlighted the impact of taking risks and staying disciplined in areas such as sleep, hydration, and recovery.
Having left her cybersecurity job to focus on athletics, Hunter Bell encouraged the club’s members to stay committed to their individual paths and avoid comparing themselves to others. Reflecting on her own journey to success, she motivated young athletes to work hard and maintain consistency to reach the world stage.
The club welcomed Hunter Bell’s presence, acknowledging her achievements following in the footsteps of renowned athlete Dame Kelly Holmes. ESM membership manager, Peter Flewitt, expressed gratitude for Hunter Bell’s visit, stating that her guidance and support showcased the potential for young athletes to excel with dedication, training, and belief in their abilities.
