A tragic incident occurred when a skydiving instructor, Justin Fuller, fell to his death after his harness became entangled on the plane during a jump in Nashville, Tennessee. Fuller, who was on a jump with a student, got separated from the client and their tandem rig shortly after exiting the aircraft. Following a search operation, authorities found Fuller’s body in a wooded area, while the student, with his parachute intact, was discovered in a tree.
Local authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Despite being stranded for hours, the student remained conscious and was rescued successfully. Ron Ulus, who assisted in the rescue, mentioned that the student indicated it was his first jump and expressed relief that he landed safely.
Fuller, who had expressed his passion for teaching skydiving on social media, was known for finding joy in helping others learn to skydive. The police confirmed that prior to the fatal incident, three other jumps near the airport had been completed without any issues.
This incident follows another tragic skydiving fatality involving 52-year-old Rosana Mabel Back in Argentina. Back, using different equipment than usual, experienced a parachute malfunction during a solo jump and tragically lost her life. The Aero Club Miramar, where the accident occurred, expressed condolences to her family and friends.
An autopsy has been ordered for Back, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. This unfortunate event adds to a series of recent skydiving accidents, including a plane crash in Australia that claimed the life of pilot Paul Smith, who was flying the aircraft carrying skydivers.
