Police are investigating the discovery of a newborn baby girl who was found abandoned in a cardboard box at the side of a road. The incident occurred around 6:50 am on Wednesday, September 24, when a passerby came across the infant. The baby, believed to be just hours old, was promptly taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed her good health. The baby, estimated to be less than a day old based on the cut umbilical cord, was seen moving inside the box in a distressing video of the scene.
The newborn was found in Tuguegarao City in the Philippines, as reported by the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Facebook. A social worker mentioned that the baby is stable and will be observed in the hospital for up to five days for further monitoring.
Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. In a separate incident, a newborn baby was discovered abandoned with a stone in his mouth and his lips glued shut to stifle cries in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, India. The infant, estimated to be between 15 and 20 days old, was swiftly taken to the Bijolia Government Hospital for medical attention. Authorities suspect that the use of glue and a stone was intended to silence the baby. Detectives are now investigating hospital records to trace women who recently gave birth in the area.
