“Virgin Media TV Unveils Free Classical and Jazz Channels”

Just in time for the holiday TV marathon, Virgin Media TV users are in for a treat with the introduction of two new free channels. The telecommunications company has unveiled its latest offerings, dubbed as FAST channels, featuring Stingray Classica (Ch296) and Stingray DJAZZ (Ch297), showcasing a range of musical content such as premieres, concerts, films, and artist interviews. These channels broadcast round the clock, ensuring entertainment at any hour.

Stingray Classica (Ch296) is a hub for classical music, opera, and ballet enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of content for both seasoned aficionados and newcomers. With 50 annual world premieres from prestigious venues, festivals, and opera houses, along with top-notch documentaries, exclusive classical music shows, and weekly premieres, there’s something for everyone on this channel.

For jazz enthusiasts, Stingray DJAZZ (Ch297) provides a blend of jazz concerts, films, portraits, and documentaries from various venues and festivals. The channel also presents artist profiles, interviews, and behind-the-scenes coverage.

These music platforms expand Virgin’s existing lineup of 32 FAST channels, including British Screen Classics, U&Transport, Inside Crime, and Haunt TV, all accessible through Virgin’s set-top boxes via the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) as part of the company’s growing FAST channel collection.

David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, “We are launching two brand new FAST channels to give our customers even more of the best entertainment Virgin TV has to offer. We’re always looking to offer our customers handpicked channels to broaden our offering, which is why we’ve added two more to the mix.”
