Singer Lola Young experienced a sudden collapse during her performance of the song “Conceited” at the All Things Go Music Festival in NYC. The incident, witnessed by attendees including The Mirror, occurred after a brief pause during which she spoke with her keyboard player before falling to the stage floor, prompting the keyboard player to cease playing. The stage was swiftly cleared as the audience dispersed.
This distressing occurrence took place as Young was making a heartfelt return to performing following a previous concert cancellation due to mental health issues. Just hours before she was set to perform at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert, her manager, Nick Shymansky, announced on her Instagram Story that she would not be able to participate in the event, citing a “sensitive matter” that required her to withdraw from the annual benefit concert supporting mental health awareness.
Shymansky emphasized Young’s openness about her mental health challenges and the occasional need for protective measures to ensure her well-being. He conveyed sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by her absence from the concert.
Prior to collapsing on stage, Young shared with her fans her recent struggles and determination to continue performing despite facing adversity. The British pop sensation rose to fame with her hit single “Messy” and released her latest album, “I’m Only F——- Myself,” earlier this month.
In a recent interview with CBS Mornings, Young expressed her current state of happiness after overcoming years of mental health battles, including being diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder at 17. She credited music as her salvation and acknowledged the support of Shymansky in her journey to success while raising awareness about mental health issues.
Despite facing personal challenges, Young now describes herself as incredibly happy, finding solace in performing on stage even amidst occasional struggles in songwriting.
