Arson Attack on Labour MP’s Office in Washington Sparks Arrest

Date:

Labour MP Sharon Hodgson’s office in Vermont House, Concord, Washington, was targeted in a suspected arson attack, causing significant damage. Authorities responded to the scene and have made an arrest in connection with the incident. Graffiti reading “328 days – blood on your hands” was found on the building, possibly linked to a larger global issue.

Local residents, including John Foster from Eagle Archery, expressed shock and inconvenience due to the incident. Foster described the scene as blocked off by police tape and mentioned the visible damage to the building. Representatives for Hodgson stated that while they would not comment on the specifics, the MP remains committed to serving her constituents and urged them to reach out with any concerns.

Northumbria Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his twenties on suspicion of arson and criminal damage following the fire at the premises. They encouraged anyone with information to contact them through various channels, providing a reference number for the incident. The ongoing investigation aims to shed light on the motives behind the destructive act.
